I am 32 years old, and I have never bought or owned a couch.  I have mooched for years off the generosity or convenient already-owned properties of my many roommates over the years!  MOOCHER!  That's me.

Anyway, this weekend, everything changed.

Bossyboots and I have been looking for sofas together because we are "serious" (I don't know what else to call it!) so he needs to be on-board with Senor Couch.  Our shopping adventures have resulted in the discovery of "Bossyboots Time".  My personality is to make split-second decisions that I 1,000% commit to... Bossyboots likes to research, price-shop, and he does not settle.

You can imagine the discussions that our two opposing decision-style personalities produce.  :)  

This is one of many situations, however, where Bossyboots wins.  Last weekend, after several months of hunting, we finally found "the one"!  I was so excited to actually BUY that frakker.  Welllll, then Bossyboots said he wanted to take a couple more weeks to think about it.  We decided to pay our couch another visit, and what joyous surprise did we behold?

Yesssssssssssss.  Bossyboots loves to think things over, but he REALLY loves a good deal.  SCORE.  We walked straight up to the counter and plopped down our hard-earned cash.

A Summer Hat for my Summer Hairs

My hair is currently quite red.  I have a habit of changing my hair color... blonde, black, brown... I've tried it all.  For the past few months, I played around with highlights, but let's be honest: highlights are a pain in the patootie.  They're expensive, and you have to get them touched up every couple months.  I'm cheap and impatient, so highlights are supreme torture for me.  To remedy this, I instead went with the most sensitive fake hair color out there. Because that's just so much easier. (Raising eyebrows at myself.) Anywho, sun kills red haircolor, and it'd uncover the highlights I'm trying to mash into dye-job oblivion, so... hello, summer hat!

Normally, I hate people in hats.  I think they look like they're trying too hard, AND because I'm a jerk sometimes.  Mostly because I'm a jerk.  However, I HAVE TO PROTECT MY RED HAIR!  (sigh) Whatever.

I snagged myself "Kate's Tipped Cloche" from Free People in both black and natural.  I could not bring myself to buy a fedora or big floppy hat because that just would have been too much humble pie for me to eat.  Baby steps here, baby steps. 

As my most secret self... I kind of like my new hats.  I think I hate myself.  I AM ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE IN THE HATS!!!

Dress Shoppin'

Wedding season is coming up, and guess what?  You can't go to weddings nekkid.  It outshines the bride, which is really rude.  SO, I spent some time tonight looking for a dress to wear to a few of the weddings I'm planning to attend this summer.  So far, my folder on my computer has these dresses...

I think dress shopping might be my most hated shopping project!  Out of the many online stores I checked out... these were the only three I liked, and I really want to keep the price at $150 or less.  Argh.  My perfect "event" dress would be just above knee-length, creative, with at least cap sleeves, defined waist, and covers my boobs so I don't feel like a 'ho.  Is that too much to ask?  :)
